Kiri10 Journey privacy policy
Effective and last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what the Kiri10 Journey app ("the app") does with your information. The app is made by Kiri10 Limited, a New Zealand company based in Christchurch ("Kiri10", "we", "us"). It covers the app only. When you shop at kiri10.com, the kiri10.com privacy policy applies instead.
- Your photos, ticks, notes and settings are stored only on your phone. We never see them.
- There are no accounts, no advertising software and no analytics or tracking in the app.
- If you choose to turn on News and offers, we receive your email, first name and where you are in your journey, so we can send you relevant emails and notifications. You can turn this off at any time.
- We never sell your information.
1. Information kept on your phone
To work, the app saves the following in its private storage on your device:
- Your first name, if you choose to enter one
- The date your journey started
- Your daily ticks and diary notes
- Your progress photos
- Your reminder times and other settings
- Your email address, only if you turn on News and offers
This information is not sent to Kiri10 or anyone else, except for the limited details described in section 4 if you opt in to News and offers. Because we never receive it, we cannot see it, recover it or restore it for you if your phone is lost or the app is deleted. Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include the app's data, depending on your phone settings. That backup is controlled by you and your phone's provider, not by Kiri10.
2. Your photos
Photos you take in the app are saved in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded to Kiri10 or any server. If you delete the app, the photos are deleted with it.
- If you tap "Save to phone", a copy is added to your phone's photo library.
- If you choose to share a photo or milestone card, the image is handed to the app you pick (for example Messages or Instagram). From then on, that app's privacy policy applies.
3. Reminders
The morning reminder and evening nudge are scheduled by the app on your phone. No server is involved. You can change or turn them off in the app, or in your phone's settings, at any time.
4. News and offers (optional)
News and offers is off unless you turn it on and enter your email address. If you do, the app sends the following to Klaviyo, the service we use for email and app notifications:
| Information | Why we use it |
|---|---|
| Email address | To send you news, offers and tips by email |
| First name (if entered) | To greet you by name |
| Journey start date, current day and stage | To send messages that suit where you are in your routine, for example a congratulations when you reach a new stage |
| Push notification token | A code from Apple or Google that lets us send notifications to your phone |
| Whether you open our notifications | To understand which messages are useful |
Your photos, ticks and notes are never sent. We use this information only to communicate with you about Kiri10 and our products, and we rely on your consent to do so. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off News and offers in the app (on the Me tab), by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. Turning it off stops the app sending further updates.
5. What the app does not do
- It does not have accounts or logins.
- It does not contain advertising, analytics or crash reporting software.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites.
- It does not collect your location, contacts or microphone audio.
- It does not sell or rent your information to anyone.
When you tap a link to kiri10.com, it opens in your phone's browser with a tag showing the visit came from the app. What happens on kiri10.com is covered by the kiri10.com privacy policy. Apple and Google may also collect information when you download the app, under their own privacy policies.
6. Phone permissions
The app asks for each permission only when it is first needed, and works without the ones you decline (except that photos need the camera).
- Camera: to take your progress photos. Nothing is captured until you press the shutter, and no audio is recorded.
- Photo library (add only): to save a copy of a photo when you ask. The app cannot read your existing photos.
- Notifications: for the reminders you set, and for news and offers only if you opt in.
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run News and offers, and only if you opt in:
- Klaviyo, Inc. (United States), which stores your profile and sends our emails and notifications on our behalf. Klaviyo may only use it to provide its service to us.
- Apple and Google, whose notification services deliver notifications to your phone.
Because Klaviyo is based in the United States, your information is stored and processed there. We use Klaviyo because it is bound by contract to protect personal information in a way comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
8. How long we keep it
Information on your phone stays there until you delete it or the app. If you opted in to News and offers, we keep your profile while you remain subscribed. When you ask us to delete it, we do so within 30 days.
9. Your rights and choices
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Wherever you live, including Australia, the UK, the EU and California, you can also ask us to delete it, to stop using it for marketing, or for a copy of it. Email hello@kiri10.com and we will reply within 20 working days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
10. How to delete your data
- Everything on your phone: in the app go to Me, then "Start a new journey" to clear your ticks and photos, or simply delete the app.
- Your News and offers profile: email hello@kiri10.com with the subject "Delete my Kiri10 Journey data" from the email address you used. We will delete your profile within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
11. Security
Keeping your data on your phone is the main way we protect it. Information sent to Klaviyo is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone protected with a passcode.
12. Children
The app is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
13. Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
14. Contact and complaints
Kiri10 Limited, Christchurch, New Zealand
Email: hello@kiri10.com
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz, or to the privacy regulator where you live.
